How Told keeps what you say
People ask "how secure is this?" before they ask almost anything else. That is fair, because what you say to Told is not small talk. We won’t answer with impressive-sounding phrases that mean nothing. Here is what is actually true, in plain words.
Only you can see your conversations
Every conversation is locked to your account inside the database itself. The database blocks every other account from reading them, not just the app hiding them. And our server refuses to start if that isolation fails its automatic test.
Nothing leaves unless you send it
There is no feed and no social layer. Nothing you say is shared with anyone unless you choose to send it yourself.
Deleting your account really deletes it
When you delete your account, your conversations, recordings, and everything derived from them are actually removed. That is a hard delete, not a hidden archive. Storage copies are fully cleared within 30 days.
One honest detail: deleting a single conversation removes it from your gallery right away, and its voice recording is removed when you delete your account.
What you say stays out of our monitoring tools
The words you say never reach our server logs or monitoring dashboards. That separation is enforced by automated checks in our codebase, not by promises.
No ads, no trackers, nothing sold
There are no advertising pixels on this site or in the app. We don’t sell or share your data for advertising, and our usage analytics never include what you say.
Encrypted connection, encrypted recordings
Every connection to Told is encrypted in transit, and your voice recordings are encrypted where they are stored.
